The Daytona Beach International Airport will host an on-site TSA Precheck enrollment event from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. May 23 through 27 in the baggage claim area. TSA Precheck offers travelers a more efficient airport screening process by allowing shoes, light jackets, belts, laptops, and compliant liquids to be untouched.
"While security lines at DAB are traditionally fast, TSA PreCheck makes the process that much easier, especially for the return flight back to DAB,” said Joanne Magley, the airport's Marketing & Customer Experience Director. "Enrolling in TSA PreCheck only takes a few minutes and significantly enhances travelers’ experience when using TSA PreCheck checkpoints around the country."
According to a release, during the on-site enrollment event at Daytona Beach Airport, applicants provide fingerprints to be submitted for a background check. Travelers can pay the $85 application fee via credit card, money order, company check, or certified or cashier's check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
Travelers can pre-enroll at www.indetogo.com/precheck, where travelers can enter “Daytona Beach, FL,” as their location and choose the International Airport.
For on-site applications, travelers must provide proof of identity and U.S. citizen documentation. For a list of specific documentation, visit www.universalenroll.dhs.gov/workflows?servicecode=11115V&service=required-docs.
Applicants who pass will receive a known traveler number through U.S. mail within 45 days. The number works for five years, and enrollees can enter it when booking travel reservations. More than 200 airlines can also store the number for future reservations.
