Disaster Survivor Assistance and D-SNAP are available for Volusia County residents.

Volusia County officials have announced that FEMA staff with the Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) program are now traveling throughout Volusia County to help residents apply for FEMA assistance and answer questions about the process.
According to a release, residents may receive support from DSA staff at their residence, work, shelter, hotel, or other places the household is residing. While not permitted to enter a home, staff may assist outside on the porch, sidewalk, driveway, or yard. DSA staff can review a resident’s materials on-site, provide information regarding their application status, assist with collecting documentation for the case file, and apply on the resident’s behalf. Additionally, DSA staff will provide referrals to other disaster relief programs for which they may qualify.
Additionally, Volusia County residents may pre-register for D-SNAP starting Monday, October 24, through Sunday, October 30. The Department of Children and Families (DCF) will also hold in-person D-SNAP events for residents unable to pre-register online.
As the pre-registration dates approach, additional information will be available.
The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) provides food assistance for residents impacted by Hurricane Ian. This program is for residents not already receiving assistance through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Applicants must have been living or working in Volusia County during Hurricane Ian and suffered a disaster-related loss such as damage to their home or self-employment property, loss of food, reduction or loss of income, or other disaster-related expenses. An applicant must meet income eligibility.
