Edgewater gears up for the 2023 Christmas Parade.

As the holiday season fast approaches, the charming city of Edgewater, FL, is gearing up for its beloved annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 9, 2023, a tradition etched in the hearts of its residents for as long as anyone can remember. The Edgewater Christmas Parade has become a hallmark of the city's holiday season, bringing together the community in a joyous celebration. 

According to a release, local school bands, floats of all shapes and sizes, local dignitaries, walking groups, emergency vehicles, and Santa Claus on a stopover from the North Pole will line up, embracing a heartwarming theme, "A Country Christmas Back Home."

One notable change for this year's Christmas Parade is its new route. The parade will kick off at 10:00 a.m. at 30th Street/Roberts Road and Hibiscus Drive, heading westward towards Silver Palm Drive, ensuring that viewers can enjoy the spectacle from both sides of 30th Street/Roberts Road.

For those planning to attend, convenient parking options are available at the following locations:

• Lime Tree Lake, located in the 2900 block of Lime Tree Drive
• Hibiscus Drive, on both the north and south sides of 30th Street/Roberts Road

Before the parade, a mandatory group leader/driver meeting will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at 104 N. Riverside Drive, to discuss rendezvous locations, lineup instructions (floats and trailers will assemble at Indian River Elementary School, while larger vehicles will line up on 30th Street), and provide information regarding entry at the north gate of Whistle Stop Park on 28th Street.
