Event Description
The Volusia County Explore Volusia and Manatee Protection Programs invite you to join Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann and Environmental Specialist Chad Murch for a paddle through Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve and learn about the Florida manatee and the Common bottlenose dolphin that inhabit Strickland Bay and Turnbull Bay. Hopefully, we’ll spot some of these magnificent creatures along the way.
**Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.
ACTIVITY: A two-hour easy to moderate paddling trip.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, your are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages 12 and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet.
WHAT TO BRING: Watercraft (kayak, canoe, or SUP), paddle, personal flotation device (must be worn while paddling), whistle, water to drink, sunscreen, and bug spray
FACILITIES: There will be a port-a-potty but no running water.
