New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport is currently undergoing a comprehensive review of its noise and operational conditions, and it wants to hear from the community. To engage with residents and gather valuable input, the airport has organized two public workshops, inviting all interested individuals to attend and share their thoughts and ideas on Thursday, July 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Friday, July 28, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Brannon Center, located at 105 S. Riverside Drive in New Smyrna Beach offering a convenient and accessible venue for participants.
These workshops will allow the public to familiarize themselves with the airport and its operations, meet the dedicated city staff, and interact with the team responsible for conducting the airport noise study. The aim is to encourage open dialogue and collaboration between the community and the airport authorities.
For an inclusive and interactive experience, the workshops will follow an "open house" format allowing attendees to engage in focused, one-on-one interactions with experts and officials, enabling them to have their questions answered and concerns addressed while reviewing displays and gathering information at their own pace.
For those who prefer to submit their comments in writing, forms will be available at the workshops as an additional avenue for individuals to express their views and contribute to the ongoing review process.
