Pettis Park
Improvements and additions were made to this four-acre park from 2009 to 2011 through a Community Development Block Grant. Changes include refurbished tennis/basketball courts, a new 3,600-square-foot pavilion, new racquetball courts, and a new skate park. The skating area is also bike-friendly. Located on the southeast corner of the site is the historical Heritage House, an original shotgun-style home that is an extension of The Mary S. Harrell Black Heritage Museum across the street.
