South Causeway Bridge to experience lane closures for inspections.

The City of New Smyrna Beach and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced necessary lane closures on the South Causeway Bridge for routine bridge inspections beginning Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

During this period, motorists heading eastbound can anticipate the closure of the outside lane on the South Causeway Bridge/S.R. 44 for conducting inspections that ensure the structural integrity and safety of the bridge. If required, similar lane closures may also be enforced for westbound traffic on Thursday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
