Effective immediately, facial coverings are now optional and voluntary for all adults, including employees, parents, volunteers, vendors, and other visitors in Volusia County schools and facilities, due to the downward trend of COVID-19 numbers in the community.
“Employees who would like to continue wearing appropriate face-coverings can do so,” said Dr. Scott Fritz, Superintendent of Volusia County Schools.
The district will continue to monitor the course of the virus and notify staff, students, and parents of any updates to its current policies. The school district is asking if anyone is sick or experiencing any symptoms of illness to please stay home.
