Body of Man Found in New Smyrna Beach Retention Pond

Yesterday, June 6th, a man was found dead in a retention pond in New Smyrna Beach. According to officials, the body was found in the 1900 block of Jungle road, off of Pioneer Trail, in a retention pond.

Police are looking into the case by performing a scheduled autopsy today. According to police, the death is suspicious because there are no obvious signs of trauma to the body.

Officials are currently looking into any other missing person reports to identify the man.
