North Causeway Closure Tonight

The next one-night closure of the North Causeway moveable bridge in New Smyrna Beach has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, April 15 to 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 16 to facilitate the replacement of a hydraulic cylinder within the bridge. A detour will be in place for vehicle traffic; marine traffic access will be maintained at all times. Drivers will be redirected by electronic message boards and other signage to take the adjacent South Causeway bridge to their destination, as shown on the included detour map. Local traffic will still be able to access properties along North Causeway between Riverside Drive and the bridge during the closure. Given the overnight timing and the brief nature of the closure, an alternative route for low-speed vehicles such as golf carts will not be provided. Please follow posted signage, avoid distractions, and allow extra travel time to reach your destination.
