New Smyrna Beach man arrested for attempted murder.

 The New Smyrna Beach Police Department arrested Buddy Collins, 53, of New Smyrna Beach for attempted murder.

Officers arrived on the scene, at a residence off Mary Ave after receiving a call for a stabbing, where Collins made spontaneous admissions to striking and stabbing the victim claiming it was in self-defense.  

According to a release, the victim was found with multiple apparent stab wounds and other injuries and was taken to an area hospital, where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Following an investigation, Collins was arrested and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond.
